Usually when I have not posted in a few months I just add a few pictures of Lauren and Asher and that seems to make everything alright.  So here you go.  I will hopefully began sharing soon.

The Journey Continues

For the last 2 years we have felt that God was calling Andy to preach.  We accepted the call and waited.  We were very happy at Pleasant View and were hoping that we could stay there forever, but as a wise man said, "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9.  The 2 years of waiting was difficult.  Steven Furtick pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte once said, "The scariest possibility for your life isn't getting God's will wrong.  It's getting God's will right but barely coming to know God in the process." During the waiting process God once again revealed himself to us as Jehovah Jireh-God our Provider.    In Dec. Andy preached a trial sermon at Friendship Baptist in Campbellsville. They asked Andy if he would be their pastor.   We moved back to Campbellsville in February.   Andy is also working at Kentucky Heartland Outreach a ministry that provides home repairs for people who otherwise could not afford them.  Check out their website at khohome.org.   We are very excited to be at Friendship and I pray that we as a church will be strengthen and encouraged by the Spirit and will grow in numbers and that we will fear the Lord, which means we will do what He says.  

We do not yet have the Friendship website up and running yet, but at least our domain name is good to go.

The Journey

When you are on a journey you have to make many decisions including what to take, where to take, who to take, when to take, how to take ...until you reach your destination.  The last few months I have constantly been asking God these questions about my family's journey.  I don't know where I am always going but I want to please God and I think that the desire to please God...pleases God.  I don't have all the answers but if I had all the answers where would faith be?  My mom read me these verses yesterday over the phone and they gave me peace in a crazy season of life.  I hope they do the same for you.

Colossians 1: 9-10

The other night right before bed I asked Lauren to pick out a book that she would like for me to read to her.  She reached for her Bible and said. "Let's read the Bible and check out what God is up too."

So sorry for not updating my blog for the last few weeks.  I am always disappointed when I go to a blog and I see the same old postings.  Well the last few weeks have been filled with lack of sleep, medicine doses, running noses, doctor visits, allergic medicine rashes, more doctor visits, Asher crying, mommy holding, Andy coughing, mommy stressing, and did I mention lack of sleep?  It however, was in the sickness that I realized how healthy we are.  I am grateful for our health...I am thankful for my family.
